Vicks VapoSteam Medicated Liquid Cough Suppressant 8 oz (Pack of 4) is an alcohol‑based solution containing 6.2% synthetic camphor that, when added to a hot steam vaporizer or warm mist humidifier, produces medicated steam to temporarily relieve coughs associated with colds by moistening dry, irritated breathing passages. Designed for adults and children aged 2 years and over, simply add one tablespoon per quart of cold water (or 1½ teaspoons per pint) into the medicine cup, breathe in the therapeutic vapor up to three times daily, and always avoid ingestion or heating directly. The formula includes additional soothing oils—eucalyptus, cedarleaf, menthol, and nutmeg—plus poloxamer 124 and silicone, and is for external use only, highly flammable, and not for use in children under age 2.
